I thoroughly enjoyed the boot camp experience. I can honestly say that by the Thursday I had never felt so exhausted in my life but it was all worth it to drop a whole dress size. Highlights of the week include trying to hula hoop on musselburgh beach in a light snow, watching my breath condense as I struggled with the weight bar before dawn in the gym, spinning like a dervish in the spin class, sleeping like a baby as soon as my head touched the pillow and appreciating every morsel of food that went past my lips. Even food I don’t like tasted like manna from heaven. The biggest surprise of the week though was the incredible feeling of wellbeing and relaxation. Between that and the humour and camaraderie with the rest of the inmates I would definitely recommend it. Now all I need to do is persuade my husband to look after the three boys again while I go on the overseas one.

“I attended the 5-day Boot Camp in March this year devised by Davina Downie, which had a great fitness program, with advise on health, nutrition, and lifestyle.

Since then I have noticed that I have more energy I feel that my fitness levels are higher and try to follow a healthy diet all in all I just feel better and my skin and hair look healthier.

I did some exercise before the Boot Camp but I feel that the camp has helped me to refocus and I now exercise about 3 times per week.

I also met a great group of people with similar goals, but the best thing was that they had completely different personalities, which made the week very enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend the boot camp to anyone who wanted to make a step change to their lifestyle.

"Before I went on Davina's boot camp friends thought I'd lost my marbles by wanting to take a week of precious holiday time to work out from dawn to dusk but knowing Davina I knew the week would be good. And I was not disappointed.
 
I had hoped for some inch loss from five days of delicious healthy eating, healthy living and a huge variety of non stop fitness activities - and I lost more than I had expected. But what I did not expect was such a feeling of wellbeing and happiness and such a laugh with being through others going through the same experiences. No phones, no computers, no coffee, tea or  meant your mind had a spa as well as your body. I felt a sense of loss at the end - so much so I've signed up for another one. I think I've found a new addiction!

They all looked at me as if I was nuts - this was not a proper holiday, and
are you really going to get enough food?

How wrong they were!

Davina, I had a great time in August. Getting up early was not nearly as
difficult as I expected (in fact no problem at all), exercising all day was
actually good fun (and I even got used to our power walk in the rain) and I
have never eaten so much in a week with 3 proper meals a day and our
snacks. Our energy levels, as promised, kept on rising during the week and
I felt completely relaxed all the time.

The only thing I am now missing when going to the gym is the sounds of I.
and the chatting of C. and you asking me “do you have a problem with that?”
in a some attempt to give me some muscle-ache!

A couple of weeks ago you asked the question whether you thought we were
hard enough. Well, I’m ready to accept your challenge and see you again
soon in Edinburgh!
